NAME: Rebecca Sullivan
HOME: Albuquerque, New Mexico
OCCUPATION: Controller of Aerospace Company
AGE: 40

"Trouble," (as she is know by her A-Team Xtrememates), enjoys snow skiing, scuba, and collecting and racing rare sports cars. This year has been a very physical one so far. Already, she spent ample time skiing Taos, Heavenly, and the Italian Alps. She has also covered an average 35 miles a week running and has competed in a handful of 5K and 10K road races winning mainly second place honors in her age group in the Albuquerque area.

Originally from the Washington, D.C. area where she was an accomplished US Rowing coxswain and distance swimmer, Rebecca now calls the mountains of New Mexico her home. A business professional, Rebecca earned her MBA from the University of New Mexico and is the Controller of an aerospace company currently under NASA contract.

Encouraged by Ironman and Governor Gary E. Johnson of the State of New Mexico, "TRUB" recently returned to the sport of triathlon. She has accumulated two top ten (age group) finishes and is hoping to place by end of the summer in the Southwest Series. In addition to triathloning, she has competed in four WTF events including Gasparilla/St. Petersburg Challenge in February. At St. Pete, she finished second in the Dual after completing Tampa's Gasparilla 15K road race placing 211/450 age 35-39 and in the top 2000 of the over 4500 women running the morning she accomplished her fitness skills.

The morning following the South Beach Challenge in May, where she won dual optional tall, 40+, she placed 14th out of 53 women in the Salute to the Military 5K in Ft. Lauderdale. Three days later, she finished in the top 300 of a field of 4800 runners in the AT&T Corporate Challenge 5K race in Orlando despite gastrointestinal discomfort.

Rebecca would like to thank Coach Atherton and members of the Ateam Xtreme for their encouragement while achieving her goals and for pushing her to the level of fitness where she stands today. She would also like to thank Governor Johnson for placing himself as he calls it, "in her rearview mirror" and pushing her to new heights as a triathlete. "His encouragement has been as enchanting as the New Mexico sunshine while I've been training. I am hoping for an impressive age group finish in the Virginia Beach Rock 'n Roll ½ marathon Sunday, September 1st to bring more attention to the fitness levels achievable by training in our great state."

"I look forward to seeing everyone in the WTF in Washington, D.C to put a wrap on my 2002 competition schedule followed by a relaxing view of FEDEX Field to watch the SKINS beat whomever they play before flying off to the slopes of Isgchl, Austria."

Car she drives: '99 Silver Mercedes Benz ML430

Favorite cheat food: buttery shortbread tea biscuits and M&M Almonds

Height: 5'4" Weight: 118

Favorite exercise: Ab crunches with plate

Least favorite exercise: Barbell 21s

Ambition in Life: To outlive the lifespan of a relative who recently passed away a the age of 99 ½.

Famous Quote: "Try not to become a (wo)man of success, but rather, try to become a (wo)man of value." Albert Einstein
