Currently:                            Resides in Pompano Beach Fl.  After moving she began to bar tend at the "Elbo Room" on Ft Lauderdale beach. Started promotional work for Worldwide and MetRX in June 2001.  Around the same time I found out about the Women's Tri-fitness Challenge (WTF).

My Story:                                              When I moved to south Florida in 1999, my world turned upside down.  I was in complete culture shock.  I partied all the time, just trying to fit in.  That's when I made the crucial decision to work at a bar or club.  My reasoning was that I was out partying all the time, why not get paid for it.  I soon got wrapped up in the bar lifestyle, and discovered many forms of instant gratification, but mainly the "quick cash trap".  I became unhappy with the lifestyle I was leading in 2001, and started to get back into fitness.  I soon detached myself in every way from the former lifestyle though I was still working in that environment.  I was frustrated and felt trapped.  I made excellent money and found it hard to break loose.  I had been praying for help, a sign for anything to get me away from the dark, smoky, unwholesome atmosphere I had backed myself into.

In February 2002, I was on the phone with my father.  He was very concerned about my younger brother.  Apparently with one semester of high school left he decided to drop out.  My Dad was trying to convince him to join the army and that's when it clicked for me.  I had an epiphany, went on line, and then called a local recruiting office.  I did some research and discovered my prayers had been answered.

My recruiter, Sgt. Butler, was very helpful and informative.  I feel very fortunate to have had his help.  He has a strong athletic background, and was on the Army power lifting team for several years.  He was able to answer all my questions and concerns, all of which were backed up in writing.  He introduced me to the appropriate people who are now helping with WTF sponsorship.

Conclusion:                          I am excited about what my future holds, and now many of my goals are easily attainable.  I signed a contract for four years, but as far as I am concerned I will accomplish 20 fold in the next four years with the army as I have in the last four years as a bartender.
